How Can the Arts Serve as a Catalyst for Social Change in the Community?

Native Chicagoan and an arts activist for over twenty-five years, Juana Guzmán has been serving as the Vice President of the National Museum of Mexican Art since 1999. Before coming to the museum, she served for twenty years as the Director of Community of Cultural Development for the city of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs. At the DCA, Ms. Guzmán created the Chicago Coalition of Community Cultural Centers, a partnership of sixty nonprofit organizations, and developed the nationally acclaimed Chicago Neighborhood Tours.
