Alma Sheperd is being honored on behalf of the Mokena Marley Frankfort FISH, a civic volunteer organization located within the Village of Mokena. Approximately 13 volunteer members of the Mokena Community contribute thousands of hours annually to charitable, humanitarian, and humanities causes. Through their efforts, Marley FISH advances the understanding of Mokena''s diverse heritage and cultural traditions. They work diligently to protect and preserve Mokena''s heritage by providing important charitable and social services to the members of Mokena''s community who are in need. Some of these services include the collection and redistribution of reading materials such as novels, as well as the collection and recirculation of eyewear to advance reading and education.
