is being honored for her role as founder and coordinator of The Fields Project in Oregon. Ms. Adams founded the Fields Project four years ago and has been the leader of the project each year. The goal of the project is to bring artists to this community to interact with farmers and the land. Artists working in all visual arts media then create works identifying with the theme "The Fields Project." Ms. Adams'' work has helped to focus public attention on art, agriculture, and our natural resources and introduce artists, in any medium, to the historical setting and activity of the Rock River Valley. The program also creates new relationships between artists, farmers, environmentalists, and educators. The goal of the Fields Project is to bring artists and the agricultural community together. The cultural and artistic exchange also results in the community raising questions not only about art, but also about beauty and human experience, some of the issues at the heart of the humanities.
