Charles Gamm isn?t above donning a costume to get his message across. When the City of Marshall gathered at an open house to celebrate the completion of a log cabin donated to the Clark County Historical Society, Mr. Gamm, the cabin's tour guide and historian, was there in period clothing to keep with the spirit of the project. Any time the Historical Society (of which Mr. Gamm is president) has an event, Mr. Gamm is there. He will dress according to the era and go the extra mile to inform visitors of the rich history of Clark County. This past summer he headed up a committee to side a building on the Historical Society property. The inside was renovated and display cases built to show historical artifacts, many of which were rescued from an attic by Mr. Gamm himself. Currently, he is involved in the renovation of Harlan Hall, one of Marshall's oldest existing buildings and one that is on the National Register of Historic Places. Once a livery stable with a full working theater upstairs, Harlan Hall will continue to have theater upstairs and will have a senior/community center downstairs. With his years of tireless efforts on behalf of his community, it is no wonder that Mr. Gamm has the most volunteer hours logged on this project.
