Douglas Ward, Ph.D. has been a resident of Glen Ellyn for over 25 years and has made multiple contributions to the community at large. He has demonstrated a sustained and significant contribution to furthering public understanding of the humanities, specifically local heritage. Dr. Ward has been an active member of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society for a number of years. During his term as president of the Historical Society from 1993 to 1998, he led in the development of a business plan that many view as critical to the Society''s resurrection. He is currently serving as its immediate past president and has been designated the Chairman of the Capital Development Committee and the Capital Campaign. This committee is dedicated to long-range funding for the society and assisting the Village of Glen Ellyn in the creation of a historical park at the Five Corners area of the Village.
