For more than forty years, Felton Jose has volunteered his time and energy to many worthy programs and projects in the City of Salem. Mr. Jose has long had a special interest in children, and for many years he could be found coaching a Salem Little League team. He has also been a dedicated member of the Salem Elementary School Board for more than thirty years. In the words of his nominator, Mayor Leonard Ferguson, Mr. Jose has helped to build an ?outstanding school system [that] is acknowledged as [one of] the strengths of the city.? One could be appreciative just for Mr. Jose's concern and interest in his city's youth, but his love of people extends far beyond that point. For many years he has also been a member of the Salem Hospital Auxiliary (a Red Coat).
