James Langlas is a person who continually demonstrates a contribution to furthering public understanding of and appreciation for the humanities in the City of Wheaton. Mr. Langlas, who holds a Ph.D. from Northern Illinois University and currently teaches at Wheaton North High School, is chair of the recently formed Community Partners in Poetry, a group comprised of representatives from the cities of Warrenville and Wheaton together with Community Unit School District 200. The group's mission is to raise awareness of literature and poetry through various means. Mr. Langlas, himself a published poet, is chairman of the Community Partners in Poetry, a local adaptation of Chicago's ?One Book, One Chicago? program.
