Jim Price is a multi-cultural pioneer. He is someone who enters new territory for the sake of enhancing public discourse about American history, but does so in a way the recognizes and honors divergent and minority points of view. Mr. Price has long been willing to donate his time and energy to curate shows of African American quilts, the Maximilian-Bodmer Expedition, and Carolyn Mazloomi Quilts for Lewis and Clark Community College. Mr. Price is recognized with the Studs Terkel Award for designing and curating an exhibition for the State of Illinois Mobile Interpretive Center of the Bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The exhibition, entitled ?Confluence of Cultures,? demonstrated the different perspectives of borders that were represented by the divergent cultures that came into contact with the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Mr. Price selected maps, created interactive exhibits, collected artifacts, and created narrative for the brochure and an audio tour of the exhibit. He contributed countless hours to developing and creating the exhibition, which had local, state, and national impact on the commemoration of the Expedition.
