Nominated By:
The Honorable Richard A. Hofeld
Homewood
Homewood Through the Years, James Wright''s 256-page book filled with more than two hundred and fifty photographs, is a comprehensive history of the Village of Homewood that will serve to educate current residents and others about the history of the community. It will also serve as an excellent research tool for generations to come. For more than twenty years, Mr. Wright has been a member of the Homewood Historical Society, and he has served on the organization's board of directors, in one capacity or another, for most of that time. He has served 4 terms as president and currently serves as vice-president. During his tenure as president, Mr. Wright initiated a program to inventory the Society's extensive collections and to develop a searchable database of its holdings. But Mr. Wright doesn?t just sit back and let others do the work. On most Saturday afternoons one will find him and a group of other volunteers working on the inventory and giving tours of the Society's museum.
