John Sloan has been an officer in the City of Galva's Arts Council for many years and has been actively involved in many of its projects. Not only has he been master of ceremonies for their monthly coffee house entertainment functions, he also performed those duties for the 150th anniversary celebration queen contest and the 150th anniversary parade. Although his accomplishments are many?he even wrote, produced, and recorded a CD of his own music?Mr. Sloan is recognized especially for his role in writing, filming, producing, and directing the 150th anniversary presentation, ?Letters to Galva,? a thirty-minute documentary on the history of the city.
