Village Trustee Lamar Hartman is honored for his efforts to save and preserve the heritage of Irving. When the historic Irving National Bank Building was being threatened by demolition, Mr. Hartman led a crusade to save the building and restore it to its former glory. An ordinance to save the site was passed in 1998, and Mr. Hartman now serves as the Chairman of the Irving Area Historical Museum Board, which is housed in the newly restored former bank building.
