Lyle Q. Foster is being honored for his work in education and teaching the community of Gurnee about the importance of diversity and tolerance. Mr. Foster''s work encompasses the ministry, serving as Executive Director of CEDA (a major comprehensive economic development and human services agency in the northwest suburbs of Cook County), serving as President of the Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth Initiative in Gurnee, and working on the Gurnee Plan Commission, among numerous other significant accomplishments. For this award, he is being recognized for his work as Gurnee School District 56 Facilitator. Mr. Foster is dedicated to diversity awareness, has developed community diversity programs for youth, and is doing diversity training for the teachers in the school district. He was able to work with teachers, parents, and community members, facilitating a program planning process that mapped out a plan to meet some of the future needs of District 56.
