For the past 10 years Margaret Ritchie has served the Village of Elburn's Town and Country Public Library District as a dedicated trustee, dependable volunteer, and innovative activist. Her personal commitment to everything ?library? in Elburn has generated a ?ripple effect? throughout the community, enhancing the lives of all its residents. Ms. Ritchie was first elected to the library board in 1995 and was closely involved in the process of designing, funding, and constructing a striking new library facility that is fast becoming an Elburn landmark. As one of the library's loyal volunteers, Ms. Ritchie has been active in many of its programs. She has served for many years as one of the library's ?Story Hour Ladies? and recently started her own book discussion group for adults. She is also an energetic member of Elburn's Friends of the Library. As a member of the group, she helps to organize used books sales that benefit the library.
