Mary Ann Kaylor is a longtime resident of Illiopolis, Illinois and an enthusiastic genealogist. Village President Robert Winters says of Kaylor that "Genealogy is a major interest for Mary Ann and our community has benefited greatly from her countless hours of research." She has done inventory work on Wilcox Cemetery (in use during the late 1800s, last known burial in 1895), which was deserted for many years but restored in 1993. She also researched Riverside Cemetery, a cemetery in continual service since the 1860s that contains over 2000 burials. She also served as Chair of the History Book Publication Committee for the Illiopolis Sesquicentennial Committee and was editor of The 150 Year Reminiscence, a 450-page book published in conjunction with the Illiopolis Sesquicentennial Celebration in 2006. The Sesquicentennial Committee provided copies of this book to local organizations, including the Sangamon Valley Collection Department of the Lincoln Library in Springfield, the Piatt County Historical and Genealogical Society in Monticello, the Latter Day Saints Library, and Decatur Genealogical Library in Decatur.
