In addition to his work with the Centralia Planning and Zoning Commission, the Centralia Noon Rotary, and the Centralia Shrine Club, in 1998 Mr. Nathan Rothschild helped to organize the Centralia Area Historical Society. As president, he was instrumental in finding a home for the Centralia Historical Museum, putting together the coalition of local citizens to acquire and remodel the building, and setting up and cataloging the thousands of items in the collection. He donates over thirty hours a week to the museum and is working to help preserve the old wooden water tower downtown. "His ever present optimism and support for the City of Centralia reaffirms his belief that the extraordinary history of Centralia must be preserved and displayed."
