Nellene Jeter is very active in preserving Byron's history. She has donated many items to the Byron Museum District as well as extensive research on the history of Byron Mayors. Nellene has obtained and helped facilitate a commemorative wall of photos of Byron Mayors from 1904 to present. She is currently working on a similar project for the fire protection district, researching Fire Chiefs. Nellene volunteers with many organizations in the community, is an active member of her church, and worked as a crossing guard protecting school children for many years.
