Don Wooten's "Legend of Oedipus" will be the focus of this two-hour session, plus a discussion of "Oedipus Rex", the Sophocles tragedy from which it was adapted. This first-person music and slide presentation examines Chicago's early prominence as a performance mecca and incubator for jazz and blues. During the post-Civil War period of industrial expansion, African American migrants seeking a better life arrived in the city in great masses. Musicians, responding to the migrant's desire for entertainment, also flocked to the city.

An exhibit on the "Amish Use of Technology", which consists of items the Amish currently use in their homes and businesses, and looks at the advances as well as the various adaptations they have created. Most non-Amish people believe the Amish live in the dark ages and do not use technology.

A firsthand presentation of the trials and tribulations of the "Line Buck Sergeant," both during training and then under fire at Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Dal Estes discusses his combat experience, the men under his command and the dynamics of the relationship between commander and soldier.
