A Road Scholar Program by Dennis Cremin

This program highlights the exciting and often overlooked role of the Illinois & Michigan Canal in national and state history. Ranging from the earliest days of the state's history to its role as the nation's first National Heritage Corridor, this program provides an historical overview that investigates this rich and varied landscape. Particular attention is paid to historical interpretation, historic preservation, and recreational opportunities.
