A Road Scholar Program by Farhat Haq

There is a great deal of interest and misunderstanding about the role of women in the Muslim world. Based on Farhat Haq's research on the role of women in Islam and in Islamic Fundamentalist parties, she presents a sensitive and compelling portrayal of women's experience in this diverse culture. Through the use of scriptural and theological sources, as well as through video clips, music and photographs, Haq discusses the important role of women in Muslim culture. Note: Program requires a slide projector and screen.
