The HistoryMakers will explore the diversity and depth of Black dance in Chicago through the experiences and unique histories of each of the panelists, which include Joan Gray (MUNTU Dance Theatre of Chicago), Joel Hall (Joel Hall Dance Center), Muriel Foster (Sammy Dyer School of Theater and Dance), and Nawja II (Nawja Dance Corps). They seek to draw connections between what are usually considered to be disparate dance traditions, while highlighting the originality and individuality of each panelist's dance genre, which include African dance, ballet, and tap.
