Islam in Southeast Asia: Common Themes, Diverse Expressionsö will open Monday, March 20, and run through the summer at the Anthropology Museum, located in the Stevens Building on campus. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or by appointment. The exhibit explores the history of Islam, the spread of the relitiong into Southeast Asia and the religious and secular celebrations unique to the Southeast Asia region. This is a fine display of beautiful and rare artifacts from Muslim communities in the Southern Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Southern Thailand.
The exhibit will be on display at the Anthropology Museum, located in the Stevens Building on campus. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or by appointment. For more information, contact the NIU Anthropology Museum at (815) 753-0230.
