Clandestinos is a festival of film and video bearing witness to the Cuban people's ingenuity, capacity for self-examination, and courage. The festival is a testament to how digital media has made its way into the landscape of Cuban film production. The guest speaker will be Cristina Venegas, Assistant Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, who will present her latest research on digital production in Cuba. A selection of documentaries, videos, and animated films will be shown. "Zona Afectada" is a short video inspired by the everyday problems brought about by scarcity. "La Vida es Silbar" is about three unhappy people debating about love, hate, promises, truth, and prejudice.
