This panel will explore the use of slam and performance poetry as a forum for social and political discussion connected to literary movements throughout history. Educator and activist Bill Ayers will moderate; speakers will include poets Kevin Coval, Kelly Tsai, Gary Lilley and teen participants in "Louder than a Bomb: The 5th Annual Chicago Teen Poetry Festival".
