Kankakee, IL, 60901-6505The exhibit title, "RAICES - ROOTS," refers to the common thread among the artists. Each man's Latino heritage has influenced his work, and each has had a successful art career and has exhibited many times in Chicago and abroad.
Where the artists differ, though, is in the medium and style of their work. Gomez works in painting and drawing, Compean works with photographic and installation medium, and Arceo is a printmaker.
A reception with the artists will be Tuesday, September 29 from 6-8 PM, with comments and discussion at 7 PM.
The exhibit will display from September 15, 2009 through October 15, 2009.
