Dennis Stroughmatt and "Esprit Creole" will perform a free concert in Carbondale Illinois' Turley Park.

Kicking off the second month of Carbondale Community Arts' Cultural Tapestry Project, Creole Fiddler Dennis Stroughmatt and his ensble, Creole Spirit, will celebrate the "Upper Louisiana" roots music that tells the musical story of the people and the culture that were "bought" in conjunction with the largest land deal in history - -the Louisiana Purchase.
