Lincoln, wife of Abraham Lincoln, and Varina Howell Davis, wife of Jefferson Davis, the Civil War (1861-1865) and its aftermath had a major impact. This lecture discusses how these two Civil War wives coped with, confronted, and-at crucial times-overcame personal and political challenges.
