The ISM will present a 3,000 square foot exhibition entitled, "Lincoln's Illinois" to coincide with the Bicentennial of Lincoln's birth. The exhibition will invite visitors to explore the social, cultural, historical, and environmental contexts of Illinois during the Lincoln era (1830-1861) by telling the real stories of Illinois' people. This object-rich exhibition will integrate and interpret art, furniture, quilts, tools, and historic photographs, as well as Native American ethnographic collections and artifacts excavated from period archaeological sites in Illinois to provide a much needed context to Lincoln's time.
