On November 14-15, the village of Cherry will host a two-day program to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Cherry Mine Disaster of 1909. The program will include several events designed to educate audiences and maintain the memory of a mining disaster that killed 259 adult and child coal miners. Tours, exhibits, and a concert will be included in the days events.
