The Illinois Heritage Association will present a series of workshops titled, "Building Meaningful Museum Collections" at the Historical Society of Quincy and Adams County and at the Marshall Public Library. These workshops will address two critical topics for museums: a collections scope, which helps a museum identify humanities-based themes that enable it to tell its unique story; and a collections policy, which aassists a museum to define areas that need to be addressed in order to meet professional standards of museum management. Target audiences for these workshops include smaller museums with little access to these important tools.
