Location(s)
For the past 6 years, Sixty to Sixty-Five, Inc., has been conducting a collecting and oral history project documenting the rich Civil Rights history of the Chicago Area Friends of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. With the archives now open and available to the public at the Carter G. Woodson Regional Library, Sixty to Sixty-Five is presenting a formal opening and keynote event to be held at the DuSable Museum of African American History in October 2011. This event will draw attention to the opening of the archives, will feature an exhibition of materials from the collection, and will showcase a conversation with Dick Gregory alongside a performance by the Freedom Singers.
