The Chicago Humanities Festival was founded by the Illinois Humanities Council. The festival has become it's own entity and is founded in part by the Illinois Humanities Council and a distinguished array of Chicago-area an educational and cultural institutions. Organized around a central theme of arts and humanities, the Festival each year brings to an enthusiastic public a luminous international gathering of performers and cultural interpreters, exploring ideas and values of basic concern to all citizens.
