Cultural Connections is a feature program of the Center for Cultural Understanding and Change at the Field Museum. It is designed to foster understanding and dialogue between different cultures by presenting joint programming with ethnic museums and cultural institutions across the city. The 23 organizations that are part of Cultural Connections pair up to present six to eight programs a year built around cultural themes that examine the similarities and differences in cultural traditions and institutions. Programs in the fall of 2007 include "Coming Together Through Powwow and Parade," a presentation of the Italian Cultural Center and the Mitchell Museum of the America Indian, and "Whipping Up Community in the Kitchen," a joint presentation of the Bronzeville/Black Chicagoan Historical Society and the Irish American Heritage Center.
