Peoria Reads! will offer a One City-One Book project with Barbara Eherenreich's "Nickel and Dimed" as the primary text. A coalition of organizations will work with the Peoria Public Libary in recruiting a diverse audiences. The project is designed to increase participants understanding of poverty and its causes, but also to bring the audience into bookstores and libraries. Discussions led by humanities scholars will be a key part of the project.
