A one-day symposium on the past and future of literary and informational translations to be held at the Newberry Library on March of 2007. The program will include individual presentations on historical and contemporary issues of translation practices and a panel discussion on different issues related to translation. Participants include a Pulitzer Prize winner, a member of the Swedish Academy and Nobel Prize committee, and scholars from the University of Rochester and Indiana University.
