The McLean County Museum of History will conduct a three-day summer camp for children grades 4 to 6 that will introduce them to disciplines -archaeology, architecture, environmental science- that use history in their activities. The camp will allow children to participate in a simulated archaeological excavation at the David Davis Mansion; learn about the functions and aesthetics of buildings at the McLean County Museum of History; and identify local flora and changes in ecosystems at the Sugar Grove Nature Center. There will be three sessions in June, July and August, one of which will be exclusively for gifted studentsin the area. There will be a registration fee of $50 for participants from households with annual incomes of more than $30,000. A participation of about 30 students per session is expected.Grant Date:
