During April and May 2006 the Elgin Symphony Orchestra will present a series of programs related to the theme "In Search of the American Dream." In addition to performances of composers with an interest in this subject, the ESO will offer lectures, a public symposium, a film series, and several educational outreach programs for grades 1-12. These events will devote particular attention to the role of immigration in shaping American music and society over the last two hundred years.Grant Date:
