The Maywood Fine Arts Association will offer a pilot program on multi-cultural awareness for youth in the community. An underserved community, Maywood suffers from a number of problems associated with economically impoverished areas. Nevertheless, the Maywood Fine Arts Association will offer a program on Hawaii and Hawaiian culture and history under the supervision of Loyola University Anthropologist Kathleen Adams. Organizers hope to use the subject as a lens through which participants may gain great understanding of cultural idenity, oppression, race, and marginalization.Grant Date:
