A year-long project that will familiarize teen writers in all the Young Chicago Authors programs with the work of Chicago writers that have used the city as a dominant element in their writing. The intention of this project is to make the students aware that they are part of a "literary continuum." The project will also allow them to consider the writer as a real-life documentarian and will familiarize participants with the practice of oral-history, interview and referential mixing of texts in realistic literary traditions.Grant Date:
