The Honorable Joan Gottschall
is a United States District Judge. She has been an attorney, Office of Legal Counsel, the University of Chicago; a partner at Jenner & Block, and a Staff Attorney, Federal Defender Program. She is a member of the Visiting Committee to the Divinity School, University of Chicago; a member of the Board of Directors of the Martin Marty Center at the University of Chicago Divinity School; and Chair, District Selection Committee, Rhodes Trust (2005-2007). She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. She has a B.A. cum laude from Smith College and a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
