Greg Koos
has worked with the McLean County Historical Society since 1977 and was appointed Executive Director in 1988. He has supervised the restoration and conversion of four historic buildings to museum purposes. The Award of Merit from the American Association of State and Local History recognized two of these projects, The Miller-Davis Building and The McLean County Museum of History. His published writing includes histories of McLean County, academic articles on the material culture of American buildings, and articles on museum and community relations. Koos has a B.A. in Historic Administration from the Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. He serves as adjunct faculty in the Department of History at Ilinois State University. He currently serves on the board of the McLean County Chamber of Commerce and the Bloomington/Normal Black History Project. He also serves as a field reviewer for the American Association of Museums' accreditation program. He lives in Bloomington with his wife, Carol. Together, they take care of the historic Adlai Stevenson house and a blind dog.
