This symposium serves as a reminder of Harold Washington's role in the history of Chicago as the city's first African American mayor and helps recall his life and contributions. The symposium will be moderated by CBS2 reporter Derrick Blakely. The keynote speaker is award-winning New York Times columnist Gary Rivlin, author of the acclaimed book Fire on the Prairie. The program will also feature panel discussions and audience participation. This symposium is funded in part by The Boeing Company.
