Sarah S. Marcus

Sarah S. Marcus is an Historian at the Chicago History Museum, where she also serves as Managing Editor of the Electronic Encyclopedia of Chicago. Sarah received her PhD in American History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and concluded a dissertation on images of Chicago and the Midwest in popular culture. Recently she taught courses at the College of DuPage and Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Marcus serves on the Executive Board of the Urban History Association and as a founding member of the Internet Digital Encyclopedia Alliance.

Using a variety of clips - from Scarface (1932) to The Untouchables (1987), from Studs' Place (1950-51) to Good Times (1974-79) - this presentation follows the camera's focus and reflects on lasting impressions created by flashing images on the screen.
