Jennifer Andrew
According to Village President Tim Smith, Old Mill Creek Village Clerk Jenifer Andrews "goes beyond the call of duty and has made Old Mill Creek her life." A full-time teacher, Ms. Andrews is co-authoring a book on the history of her community. In writing the book, Ms. Andrews traveled to Scotland in order to research the community's roots and researched the world famous Lipizzaner stallions, which were imported from Austria, Hungary, and Yugoslavia by millionaire Tempel Smith of Tempel Steel Company and bred on Tempel Farms in Old Mill Creek. As a member of the Village government, Ms. Andrew runs the day-to-day operations of Old Mill Creek and attends and takes minutes at all the meetings of the Plans Commission and the Historical Commission. She is an invaluable resource for the goings-on in the community.Return to the archive listing for The Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award - 2006
