Since recently volunteering to serve as President of the Flora Chamber of Commerce, retired bank president Larry Kramer has led and supported multiple initiatives for the commemoration and appreciation of Flora and Illinois history. He has worked diligently to mark the George Rogers Clark march through Illinois that resulted in the capture of Fort Sackville in Vincennes, Illinois. Mr. Kramer has also played an important role in placing a statue of Clark in the Flora Depot grounds. He has also been a driving force in the restoration of the Flora B&O Railroad Depot and has secured, reconditioned, and vacuum-sealed a fireproof safe to use as a time capsule for the communityReturn to the archive listing for The Studs Terkel Humanities Service Award - 2006
