Given annually by the IHC, The Public Humanities Award recognizes individuals and organizations for their contributions to public understanding of the role the humanities play in enriching civic life and strengthening communities.
Jack Wing provided senior leadership to the financial services industry in Chicago and nationally for many years. As a civic leader, his deep interest in education and the humanities has benefited the wider community. Jack served on the boards of Rush University Medical Center, the Ravinia Festival, Kartemquin Films, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and the Chicago Humanities Festival. He was also a member of the Visiting Committee to the Division of the Humanities of the University of Chicago and served as a life director and former chairman of the board of the Illinois Humanities Council.
