Educators who consider themselves dedicated to the profession, to their students, and to life-long learning are encouraged to apply. The IHC especially encourages applications from educators who have recently joined the profession. Seminar applicants must currently be full-time educators in Illinois (K-12) schools and have at least one year of experience in the Illinois school system. Germany seminars are open to full-time K-12 educators with three or more years of full-time teaching experience. Special preference will be given to educators with German language skills and to IHC seminar alumni. Please note that family members, spouses, friends, and pets cannot be accommodated. Unfortunately, there can be no exceptions made to this rule. IHC seminars are dedicated to learning for the sake of learning and no college or university credit is given. However, the IHC is an approved ISBE provider and all IHC seminars qualify for CEUs.
