This website talks about how water is becoming scarce in numerous places. The earth has about three-fourths of water and isn't it constant. "What ever goes must come down", so whatever water goes up has to come down as form precipitation and so the amount of water on the earth is constant. So why are these places getting less and less of water? - water is a renewable resource in a way.

are we going to run out?
This forum has alot to say about the issue of "running out of water" http://www.bautforum.com/science-technology/40317-will-planet-ever-run-out-water.html
We will never run out of water, but it is possible that if we continue to be wasteful we might run out of drinkable freshwater. Another person commented that we have begun using fossil water, which is good now, but it is a non-renewable source, meaning that when we use it all up, its gone. Is it possible to purify sea water to make it drinkable?
Students can conserve water
Water
Concerning our way of conserving we can find ways in our everyday life to take out the water use we do not need. An example would be watering our grass or washing our cars every weekend. These are just two examples. In the other countries it seems that this is also a problem but they are using their water for irrigation.
It looks like irrigation
It looks like irrigation isn't helping our farmers enough, maybe we should stop.
Ways to conserve water...
I found a pretty sweet website with some ways that we can conserve water here in America...which eventually could help out the rest of the World suffering from water shortages.
Heres a few of my favorites:
-Store drinking water in the refrigerator rather than letting the tap run every time you want a cool glass of water.
-Never allow water that could be used in another way go down the drain....you can always use excess water to water plants or to clean.

Neat, I am glad you are
wow bobby, you're
wow bobby,
you're cool. NOT.
Irrigation
With water becoming scarce maybe we should stop irrigation in some of the countries. It shows that the irrigation is growing yet it doesn't help the farming industry maybe by 1 percent.

Great Bend, Kansas
Yeah, Hunna is right about Kansas. Water irrigation is key to many people in that state, and taking it away will affect not only them and their families but just about everyone in the U.S. who depend on wheat....come on
I think you should go check

irrigation is wasting
why waste water using irrigation when you can just use the free rain.
I think irrigation could be
I think irrigation could be a waste in an area that just isn't good for growing crops (deserts, perhaps). But what about in times of drought in a certain area? Shouldn't irrigation be used to keep farms going when there hasn't been any rain?
Water
It is true that water is a renewable resource but then again it's not. Sure, water can be renewed when it goes up into the air and comes back down in rain. However, people drink, wash, and even waste water on a daily basis. In addition, some countries are dry and do not even know what rain is! As people, we need to always conserve water daily even when there is a surplus of it. We need to be always prepared if a drought ever did hit our towns or countries.

Awareness
First, people of the world can reconstruct their daily habits concerning water outake. Many people, like me, shower more than they need to. Also, many keep water running while they brush their teeth, which adds up to about 4-5 minutes of constant flow. If people would take these habits and try to limit how much water they use in these daily exercises then we would see much more conservation of water.
Second, as a student of Pontiac Township High School, I say we, as an Economics class, can start with the showers of the locker room. Every day as I enter the locker room I can hear a steady down pour of water, even though there is no one in them. This contributes to a lot of the water loss at our school.
Water conservation is all about awareness.
Solutions
We can do many things to conserve water. For example, in the summer, people can save water by always turning off the hose and not leave it running. Imagine how many gallons of water would be saved from this single action! In addition, people can reduce their time when they're in the shower. Simple acts like these ones can help conserve the water in the U.S.. As a class, we can make people aware of how much water they consume by presenting a project to them. Then, we could tell them ways of how to conserve water in their households. In addition, we could make students aware around school about the crisis by giving a short lecture in the auditorium. Lastly, as individuals, we can do our part in conserving water.

Conserving water
none
One idea is to replace the automatic urnals in the bathroom with regular urnals that do not use as much water per flush, and people could choose to flush or not to flush. Second, students should be required to take a coarse on conservation of not only water, but other key minerals.

Choosing to flush or not to
Choosing to flush or not to flush is a good idea, but I believe it can get a little messy especially in a high school.
However the idea might be better in a private setting, like a home or office. My best friends grandparents flush the toilet only every other time. This helps reduce the amount of water they're using.
ew...
excellent idea sarah!
my grandparents bathroom always smells a little funny...little did i know they were saving our water supply!
